Happy Isles Run-off

Cascade Creek Falls

Bridalveil Falls
Yosemite is crafted and sculpted by water.  At this time the run-off from the winter snow pack is at its peak, sending torrents of water over dozens of falls throughout the park. We shoot many of the renowned waterfalls, like Bridalveil, upper and lower Yosemite falls, Cascade Creek Falls, and smaller falls that occur along the many creeks and rivers.

There is some walking involved, though most of the images we take are fairly close to the road.  In mid-afternoon we might
travel to either Tioga Pass to shoot Tenaya Lake (and the waterfalls along the road) or to Glacier Point, to photograph Nevada and Vernal Falls.

A tripod and polarizing filer are important pieces of equipment to have, as is a ND 4  filter to slow down shutter-speeds.

Reservations

We meet in Oakhurst on Hwy 41 at 7am and travel up to Yosemite Valley.  We stop and shoot the waterfalls along the many creeks, like Alder Creek, on our way to the valley.  Cool in the mornings, it is usually nice in the afternoons this time of year.  You might want to bring an extra pair of tennis shoes in case you get your feet wet.
