Rutting Bull Elk

My first trips to Yellowstone, clear back in 1984 were in the fall.  One of those first trips led to my first published article and photos in 1985.  Since then I don't think I have missed a single autumn, a single elk rutting season in the park.  Many years I made several trips in September and October and I learned about the park.  I learned the flow and movement of the animals, and I learned by experience when and where to be at sunrise, before and after storms, and during the elk rutting seasons.  Lots of hours and miles on the roads of Yellowstone.

Many of my friends have learned these things with me.  I've shot with others who taught me, and in turn I've taught those that have come with me, friends and clients. There's been a long line of fellow photographers, clients, and some just friends that I've learned about the park with    I've shot more than 600 days in Yellowstone and the park is more magical today than ever before.

The bottom line is Yellowstone delivers the greatest wildlife photography experiences in North America.
