Back           Monterey and Big Sur Coastline          Saturday, December 15-16, 2012   $320

Bobcat along Highway 1

Waterfall and Ferns in Los Padres NF near Big Sur

I've driven the roads and shot the coastline hundreds of times - and every time it's different.  This early in the year the marine layer is offshore from the coastline and we have relatively clear days, but storms are cool too, and add their own character to the shoot.

The coastline is beautiful and we will work  north and south of Big Sur.  There will be lots of different kinds of subjects to photograph - coastal landscapes, the crashing Pacific Ocean along the headlands, coastal wildlife, fern groves, and other subjects of opportunity.

The weather can vary from cold and damp to cool and breezy - so dress with that in mind.  Hats, sunscreen, and layered clothing are all important.  We will do some short hikes to viewpoints, but mostly areas closer to the road.  Each safari has had more wildlife photo opportunities than the previous one, so come prepared.

We meet in Monterey at 7:30am on Saturday, December 15 shooting state parks and beach along the coastline.  We finish Sunday at sunset around 5:00pm near San Simeon, on Highway 1.
